Docs: Marilyn Mosby’s entire defense team asks to withdraw, have public defender appointed

New documents filed in federal court say that all six attorneys defending former Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby are asking to be removed from the case and have a public defender appointed.

According to the filing, the attorneys now say they have a conflict, but the documents do not specify what the conflict is.

Mosby’s attorneys include A. Scott Bolden, Gary Edward Proctor, Rizwan A. Qureshi, Kelley Miller, Anthony R. Todd and Lucius Outlaw.

During a Tuesday hearing, Mosby’s defense team appeared in court with her and argued on her behalf. However, it was during that hearing that Judge Lydia Griggsby admonished Bolden for violating various court rules and gave him until Jan. 31 to explain why she shouldn’t hold him in contempt of court. Judge Griggsby said Bolden violated rules when the defense team disclosed confidential juror questionnaire information in a previous court filing, and she was frustrated with Bolden’s conduct following a September hearing when he swore on the courthouse steps.

The filings said Mosby had agreed to the decision and that the federal public defenders office said they could take the case. The filings asked the judge to halt all movement in the case until the transfer has been made to the next legal team, potentially jeopardizing the scheduled March 27, 2023 trial date. However, Judge Griggsby does not have to agree to the request.

  1. Who the hell would want to defend that crooked POS? Even her own don’t. Does that tell you anything? She is what’s wrong with Baltimore today!
