Wyoming is set to BAN sales of new electric vehicles by 2035 to ‘ensure the stability’ of its oil and gas industry

Wyoming has introduced state legislation to ban the sale of new electric vehicles by 2035 to ‘ensure the stability’ of its oil and gas industry.

The announcement comes as several states, including New York, California and Oregon, move to phase out the sale of new gas-powered vehicles to combat climate change.

Wyoming officials argue that the oil and gas production has created ‘countless jobs’ and contributed ‘revenues to the state of Wyoming throughout its history.’

The bill also notes that Wyoming lacks charging stations and that ‘the critical minerals used in electric batteries are not easily recyclable or disposable.’

  1. so much for the free market and capitalism…the state government is mandating that one industry be banned or controlled while allowing other businesses to thrive is the exact opposite of a free economy…..

  2. It’s about time someone stood up to this eco-nonsense!

Electric cars are being forced on us. If the market wanted them then the tax incentives and the banning of gas cars would not be necessary.
If you want an electric car, by all means go buy one, but don’t tell me I have to!

  3. By 2035? LOL! The Oil Industry is already investing in alternatives. Blue-collar workers will need Engineering and Advanced electronic degrees. There will be no more living wage Oil Riggers and Coal Miners digging in holes and drill driving. The future is upon us. Give up the Nostalgic worker man notions of an Era gone by especially those that reject Union Notions.

    1. The oil industry is “Investing in alternatives” because the investment funding for oil exploration and development is being shut off by the SEC and companies like Black rock.

This transition to electric is being forced and is no way natural

      It is all about control!
Q: Why do you think they forced the installation of “Smart Meters” a few years back? A: Because they can shut you off remotely.

  4. Simpler process:
    1) Tax transactions at public charging stations to provide equivalent revenue to a gas vehicle fillup. EVs use the roads and cause wear just like gas or diesel vehicles.
    2) Where charging is free, require the value of the charge to be recorded as imputed income on state tax forms of the owner, requiring owner data to be input at time of charge.
    3) Require same tax on charging at home.
    4) Require fire suppression system in any garage with a charger system.

It’s possible to throttle choices and behaviors in more directions than green.
