LATEST: Residents of Virginia town put under ‘shelter in place’ order after armed and dangerous man fires shots: Suspect tried to run over two police officers after stealing their car

Residents of a Virginia town were ordered to shelter in place on Thursday as police try to find an ‘armed and dangerous’ man after he stole a police car during a domestic call and attempted to run two cops over.

Police say Jerrod Celablee Brown, 34, also stole additional firearms from the police vehicle, fled on foot and is currently ‘at-large.’

They responded to a domestic call on Thursday morning that was described as ‘calm,’ and they currently do not know why Brown stole the car.

Reporters at the scene said they heard gunshots which they believe are from Brown, but they do not think he was shooting at anyone.

Police have asked residents not to approach Brown as officers gather in the Southside of Pulaski to search for the fugitive.
