You Know It’s Not A Good Sign When Rooms Are Still Available For Bike Week

I was sent a message stating rooms are still available, many of them 50% off too.

Trimper Rides Rentals

Marty’s Playland Rentals

Let me be the first to say it, it was a horrible season in Ocean City. While no one else will admit it, come on, there was absolutely NO TRAFFIC whatsoever.  In years past traffic would be backed up to at least WalMart and sometimes Stephen Decatur. Traffic wasn’t even backed up to Pizza TuGos this year. The fact that there are so many rooms available and the town of OC is reaching out to market these rooms is a tell tale sign things are going to unfortunately be much slower this Bike Week.

  1. OC has brought this upon themselves with taxation, dynamic special event zone designations, and wokeness!
Families are not coming like they were – going to friendlier places….

  2. Bingo Bango Joe – and no one….NO ONE down at City Fail will state the obvious. Minus Memorial day (which was last fiscal years $$$), 4th of july and a somewhat somber labor day – the island has been quite quiet. Especially mid-week, which was a problem prior to COVID.

Another tell tale sign is the amount of boats on the bay minus Sat and Sunday; bars not opening until 3pm – EVEN on a Friday; lack of help. I just saw an article about J1s and that they would be going home now – HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Talk about fake local news from the blue wavers.

This weekend is Bikers. Red carpet should ALWAYS be rolled out for them cuz they do spend money.

Next weekend (Sept 22-25) is the very scary “Special Event” weekend. Although, there is nothing on the OC calendar. Hmmm. Oh yeah, locals better hit the stores for bread Milk and Toilet paper! Merchants better shut down like past years.

Weekend of Sept 29 – Oct 1 is the brand new Oceans whatever its called concerts. 2 platforms with named bands. That should be interesting since we LCOAL gray beards are the ones excited. Local Gray beards do NOT fill up hotels. Hmmmmm….

Cars come in during Columbus Day weekend and the Sunfest in the Fall. Thats it. Nada until next spring.

Its was a bad year for FY21, it will be a bad year for FY22 and if the same mindset with HIGH HIGH hospitality costs remain – FY23 will be the same. All of this coming off of COVID.

Don’t really know if voting this Nov will really help.

    The beat goes on!
