One would think after the exposure of these properties we, (concerned property owners) would’ve been contacted as to what’s next, we have not.
I contacted the Executive’s office yesterday and was told they would pass on our concerns. There are many other properties throughout the county of concern as well but this is an entire downtown of just one town.
Another strange thing about Powellville the fact that all our mail is now addressed to Pittsville. This can be very confusing to let’s say a GPS system. Are we Powellville or Pittsville? If we’re Pittsville, (an incorporated town) will we get the same services as Pittsville, aside from just mail?
Nevertheless, I have yet to hear from ANY of the candidates running for our district as well as County Executive hopefuls.
It should be noted, every property above is completely visible on Powellville Road, Downtown Powellville.
Julie Giordano, where are you and why no response? This is a part of Wicomico County too, don’t you care? If not, why not? What about the rest of those who sit on the council or are running, don’t you care? What is wrong with you people. You are either on the Council or want to be, why not reach out to Powellville land owners for a solution. looks like you just want to deal with pet projects. Shame on all of you.
Why are you calling out Julie? She is RUNNING for County Executive and may not even have knowledge of this situation. Even IF she did, nothing she can do…YET.
You should be calling out the CURRENT ACTING COUNTY EXECUTIVE John Psota and why not a CURRENT County Council member that is ALSO RUNNING for County Executive Ernie Davis? Ernie Davis is CURRENTLY a County Council member why has HE or PSOTA not attempted to address this? Yes, SHAME ON THEM…the ‘at large’ joke JOHN CANNON shouldn’t be left out either!

It’s just like Worcester County. The north end is all that matters. Screw the south end. And Nordstrom signs off on everything the northern commissioners want. Like a little btch.
You want to know why they don’t care because they can only do what they are told to do, they are all controlled, you think they work for us think again. Dig deep and find out where the $ really come from. Don’t worry all these fools are in for a rude awakening very soon. They will be working to do what is best for our Communities and if they are not willing to do this then I suggest that they get out now.
Just like Salisbury the worst mayor in the city’s history and a city council that doesn’t give a darn, and a police chief that could care less Iooks like the same has fallen on another community. We are sorry for the way things have not changed for that community as well. I am glad our parents, grandparents and citizens of long ago cannot see what has become of pride in the communities of this area. Citizens keeping up properties when the communities around them fail makes us all wish we could afford to move, that we could get enough money for our homes to find peace and be able to live out our lives quietly in nicer surroundings. I wish it could be for us all.
Private properties should not be a concern to anyone but the owner. As one commenter said about Ted Elder stay on your side of the line (county) as should everyone else stay on your side of property line

Its shame Downtown Powellville has crumbled. Such a nice little town. There is a book in the church there called Powellville” a little piece of heaven” that has historical facts about the town. And your right something needs to be done but do not count on it. Psota will do nothing! Just a empty suit! Really sad.
