Thirteen Shootings, Twenty-One Victims, Five Dead Since Wednesday In D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – It’s been a very difficult week for the D.C. Metro Police Department. According to Executive Assistant Chief Benedict, there have been 13 shootings, 21 victims, 5 of which have been fatal in D.C. since Wednesday.

Benedict said that the shootings have took place across the city in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th districts. “Our detectives are working diligently with our partners in city government with the office and our violence interrupters to see if there’s a pattern or something we can do to help quell the violence.”, stated Benedict at a press conference yesterday.

The police are asking for the public’s help in getting to that point. At this point they are trying to determine if there is a pattern.

He also stated that if you have any information about any of these shootings, to take NO action but to call the police at 202-727-9099 or TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.
