Governor Larry Hogan suggested that after Donald Trump’s candidate won Maryland’s GOP gubernatorial primary this month, his potential ambitions for a White House run are emboldened.
‘Does this [loss] make you more or less likely to run for president in 2024?’ ABC News’ Jonathon Karl asked Hogan in an interview on the This Week program.
‘It makes me more determined than ever to continue the battle to win over the Republican Party and take us back to a bigger tent, more Reaganesque party,’ Hogan said.
He added: ‘We got our work cut out for us but I’m certainly not giving up.’
Hogan backed Kelly Schulz in the GOP primary election last Tuesday, but she lost to Dan Cox, who had the endorsement of former President Donald Trump. He admitted that Cox’s win wasn’t only a loss for Schulz, but also for him and his legacy.
The Maryland governor claimed that it’s very unlikely Cox will win the general election come November.
‘So, it was a win for the Democrats,’ he said. ‘It’s a big loss for the Republican Party and we have no chance of saving that governor seat.’
‘We actually had a chance if they hadn’t gotten together and done that,’ he said of his party’s failure to elect Schulz.
Anything that RHINO Hogan endorses is certainly out of the question. Voting for COX all the way !!!!!!

A lot of politicians said Trump could not get elected, but he did. If cox can’t get elected the Hogan backed RINO sure as he$$ can’t. So many just don’t understand that a lot of folks want real conservatism and not what Hogan has to offer. The days of compromise are over. It’s a war and the goal is to win.

Hogan’s personal ambitions are why there was a huge vacuum in who would run to succeed him. Late in his second term his Lt. Gov. said he would not run. Egoist Larry should have worked to find a candidate all Republicans could get behind to avoid primary scuffles. Instead he continued to push his personal delusion and that is where he spent his time.
None of the Repub candidates were/are perfect but he could have built a coalition ticket that would have proven acceptable to most Republicans, and which would have been positioned for success in November.
If Hogan had been able to get another Republican elected to succeed himself his stock in 2024 would have something to talk about. But it’s pretty clear he won’t spend much energy on Mr. Cox’s behalf.
