One Last Social For DJ Batman

OCEAN CITY — The resort area is mourning the passing of longtime Ocean City deejay and ambassador Michael “Batman” Beatty, who has succumbed to a courageous battle with cancer.
Beatty has for more than four decades entertained generations of Ocean City residents and visitors with his fun and entertaining shows all over the resort area and well beyond. For years, he was known as the “Night Time Mayor of Ocean City” because the seemingly ubiquitous entertainer could be seen and heard emceeing a special event or ribbon-cutting in the evening followed by a late night performance in one of the resort’s many bars or nightclubs or hosting the town’s beach parties downtown at the Boardwalk.
There are more than a few gray-haired local residents and visitors who frolicked to Batman’s antics when they were 20-something’s now have grown children of their own who, in recent years, enjoyed Batman’s shows and his tireless entertainment and his endless calls for a “Social.”
Beyond his remarkable entertainment run in Ocean City and his endless work as an ambassador for the resort town, Michael, a veteran, was just a genuinely nice guy who cared immensely about his home town and he will be sorely missed.
For those out at the Air Show or enjoying a Sunday Funday in some other way, raise a glass to one of the great ones for one more “Social.”
RIP Mike. You will be missed but never forgotten. Got damn cancer.
RIP
I’m going to miss him. I’ve been friends of his for several years on FB and had no idea he had cancer?
I can tell you this, Batman was a true conservative a s a true Patriot! He was also one of the funniest, most natural DJ’s out there!
R.I.P. Mike “Batman” Beatty!
mike started his DJ career as a Armed Forces DJ and I have often thought he influenced the movie “Good Morning Vietnam” I am sure Heaven will be rockin’ better now.
