U.S. gas prices have soared to a record high of $4.67 per gallon on average nationally, with prices jumping 48 cents in May alone, according to AAA, as one gas station in Los Angeles is charging more than $8-a-gallon.
States like California and New York are seeing higher than normal prices, with a gallon of gasoline costing between $4.88 to $6.19, with a downtown LA Chevron station standing as an outlier charging $8.05-a-gallon
For the first time in history, the average price has exceeded $4.00 in all 50 states.
One customer at the station on Alameda Street, who was visiting the city from Florida, appeared frustrated when he saw his bill.
‘$140 to fill up by van. That’s f**king crazy,’ he told the local Fox station.
In a statement regarding to the outrageous price at the gas station, Chevron said: ‘This station, along with the majority of our branded stations in California, are owned by independent businesspeople who make their own decisions about the price to charge at their stations.’
Reminder..we were energy independent until creepy Joe came into the picture… the Ukraine war cannot be fully blamed for the meteroic rise…yes, to some extent, but gas had already doubled under the old fossil, trying to get rid of “fossil” fuel…many scientists and researchers say oil is NATURALLY produced IN the earth 🌎…. exactly how many billions of barrels of oil have been taken out of the earth??? How many damn dinosaurs and fossilized trees have there had to have been to account for all that oil??? Oil is a very ancient and plentiful resource as are diamonds and gold and only as valuable as the human toll of their extraction. The point is we are no longer Cavemen in need of fire and burning everything in our wake. Almost $5 for regular 87 grade. Add more to mid and high grade …..not to mention diesel, which is our backbone for moving goods. Trucks, tractors, buses, TRAINS……. Then jet fuel too. Coal Oil gas water are natural resources….from mom earth. We have been lax for almost FIFTY years since USA built its last refinery. Five Zero. Yet there is a growing minset for electric everything. Still need to mine for elements that make batteries. Whats the exit strategy when that doesnt work in 10 years? I hope someone says oil. Cuz i will then say our refineries are now SIXTY years old.

Blatant propaganda. That LA gas station charging $8 per gallon is a full service station in Beverly Hills. Anytime someone wants to skew the narrative about rising gas prices, they cite this one specific gas station that caters to LA Billionaires that go there to fill up their Rolls Royce just to pretend gas is as expensive everywhere else. It’s propaganda and bad faith “journalism”. The same thing happened during gas peaks under Bush, Obama, and Trump. It’s a lame scare tactic.
