Republicans have been piling on President Joe Biden on Wednesday after he signaled an openness to canceling a substantial amount of the $1.6 trillion federal student loan debt held in the United States.
GOP lawmakers on the House Education and Labor Committee pointed out that 65 percent of Americans do not have a college degree, writing on Twitter: ‘Most Americans see the stupidity of mass student loan forgiveness—why can’t the Biden administration?’
And a group of Republican senators are introducing a bill that would ban the president from mass student loan forgiveness.
They’re being led by Senate Minority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.). The bill is also aiming to limit student loan moratoriums after Biden recently extended the relief measure again until August 31.
‘Taxpayers and working families should not be responsible for continuing to bear the costs associated with this suspension of repayment,’ Thune told Fox in a statement.
Biden alluded to his plan during a meeting on Monday with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, where he told Rep. Tony Cardenas, a California Democrat , that he had plans that would please the group.
The move would be a much-needed policy accomplishment for Democrats heading into November’s midterm elections, at a time when the president’s low approval rating could anchor their chances of keeping control of Congress.
But Republicans have argued that sweeping student debt forgiveness could put an undue burden on US taxpayers.
If it’s bad for America, O’Biden is gonna do it.

When a student borrow someone else’s money to help pay for their college education, they borrow with the contractual understanding that they will pay the lender back all the money they borrowed and a little extra money in interest. There are many retirement and investment portfolios that invest heavily in student loan programs with the silly belief the students will actually, pay it back. If Biden and those absolute idiots in “The Squad” are successful in this insanity, we are all going to witness a total collapse of many of these retirement and investments programs. And after that happens, who in their right mind will ever want to lend their money ever again to any young person who wants to go to any college??? This will be the end of student loan programs. Why are the Democrats so stupid to the absolute basic rules of economics???

From my experience (and I see hundreds of credit reports every year) MOST people don’t ever intend to pay it back. Doesn’t even cross their mind (and it’s a tiny mind).
They have $120,000 in student loans, have apparently been “going to school” for 10-15 years, still don’t have even a 2 year degree and are working jobs that pay $13 an hour. And STILL need MORE MONEY.
WE should hang them too. They are non-contributors to society and a burden to people who actually EARN their way in life.
And the middle class, most of whom DON’T have a degree are working their ace off so these loser thieves can drive Chrysler 300’s and have the moon and stars on their fingernails.
And DEMOCRATS want me to pay for that???
I went to school at night after getting off my full time job. And PAID for my classes.
