SALISBURY – Wicomico’s county executive position will receive a $22,000 salary increase following the 2022 election.
On April 5, the Wicomico County Council voted 5-2, with Councilmen Joe Holloway and Larry Dodd opposed, to increase the annual salary for the Wicomico County executive by 26%, from $85,000 to $107,000, commencing with the 2022-2026 term of office.
The decision came after months of back-and-forth discussions on proposed salaries ranging from $100,000 to $124,000.
“In good faith, and trying to come to a consensus so we can move on, I would encourage the $107,000 amendment,” said Councilwoman Nicole Acle. “It’s within reason for us to come to a consensus and move on.”
In December, members of the Wicomico County Compensation and Allowance Commission came before the county council with recommended pay increases for the county executive, county council and the Wicomico County sheriff.
Where’s the money coming from?
Prepare for the attempts to repeal the revenue cap!
They get way too much already !!! Need a DECREASE !!!!
Give that money to the Jail officers instead !!!!
They are getting ready to hand the county purchasing agent a 33k a year salary increase with one employee he oversees. In other county waste news. Why are emergency service employees driving 8 mile per gallon pickup trucks home daily? Can Psota or Pam the Man explain? Thanks Larry and Joe for looking out for the taxpayer.
Here we go for an enormous tax increase that seniors on SSI cannot afford. Will they take away all the tax breaks given to their contract buddies and rental property buddies. They need to take away all tax breaks from the rich and contractors, slum lords, rental owners. Then raise their taxes and decrease the senior / retirees on SSI.
Funny how no one even knew we had a acting county executive until a female educator with a degree threw her name in the hat. I think she means business and is soft on the eyes too. Psota is a Rino like John Cannon. Give his a$$ the boot come June.
With the exception of Larry Dodd and Joe Holloway, the rest should be ashamed.
Psota has a huge pension from MSP. He road a desk for 20 years. Noway I’m voting for retired guy with a massive pension and DEMANDS more money. I’m voting for the women.
A retired trooper should not be getting a pay increase at tax payer expense.
Why not? They are serving in an entirely different position. No rule/law states a prohibition.
Now should there be? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm… Legislature (local/city/state) would need to approve that.
Until then – there is no issue.
Of course the women wanted the pay raise. Gonna line her pockets when she wins.
Funny how Julie Giaradano never goes to any non white functions in the County.
No on mentions how much Norman Conway double dipped on tax payers money. Maybe Julia doesn’t attend because she was not invited or did not know about them.
Why would she waste her time attending any “non white functions” in the County. Blacks will surely vote for Ernie Davis, regardless of her views, simply because he is black. Not racist, just factual.
Doesn’t she represent ALL residents.
