Republican governor says Trump is backing ‘crazy’ candidates for the GOP’s primary races and is ‘going to lose in 2022’

Maryland GOP Gov. Larry Hogan said on Friday that former President Donald Trump is backing “crazy” candidates in the Republican Party’s primary races.

“Trump is trying to insert himself in races all across the country where people he’s supporting are crazy,” the governor told ABC News.

He added that the candidates Trump supports — and their performance in their respective electoral races — would be critical in defining the face of the GOP.

“The primaries are critically important because they are going to determine what the Republican Party looks like,” said Hogan.

“It will tell us how much Trump’s influence has waned or not. Has he been diminished? And what does that foretell about the next election two years later?”

Hogan also expressed hope that Trump’s ambitions for the elections would meet with failure.

  1. Thanks goodness his political career is over!

    Hogan the RINO that is…..

President Trump will continue to be an influencer for years to come! Thankfully!

  2. He dreams of being president…I would write in Mickey Mouse rather than vote for the turncoat lock down Larry

  3. 6:50 I somewhat disagree that Hogan is the worst governor we ever had…………I think it was Harry Hughes and Martin O’malley. I do agree that Jake Day is the worst mayor Salisbury ever had.
