Ocean City Police Respond to Motor Vehicle Collision Involving a Councilmember

Ocean City, MD- (April 9, 2022): The Ocean City Police Department responded to a north-end restaurant on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 6:02 p.m., for a report of a minor collision. It was reported that a parked vehicle was struck in the private parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers met with the individual that reported the collision and the owner of the parked vehicle. Officers learned that both vehicle owners had exchanged necessary information prior to our arrival. Officers met with the driver of the striking vehicle, who was identified as Mark Paddack. Paddack was patronizing the restaurant when officers met with him. Officers observed Paddack consuming alcoholic beverages while in the restaurant and instructed him to have a designated driver take him home later.

The investigating officer then completed an official information exchange form for the collision, and the officer did not observe any evidence that Paddack was impaired before the collision.

A concerned citizen approached the officer in the parking lot to report a male yelling at his child inside the restaurant. The officer entered the restaurant and attempted to de-escalate the disturbance. At which time, Paddack agreed to leave the restaurant and was driven home by a sober individual. The juvenile was taken to Police Headquarters for his safety. The Department of Social Services was notified about the domestic dispute. Social Services contacted the juvenile’s mother and had the mother pick up the juvenile.

The Ocean City Police Department is prepared and proactively handling criminal violations and citizen complaints of illegal activity to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors. 1. EVERYONE that knows Paddock is not the least surprised! This is not the first time by a long time this has happened. Social media is eating him up. Up but an equally worthless retired drunk firefighter that would have also been in jail for a DWI hit and run, if not for his crooked sister that surprise, is also a cop. Funny how trash always ends up together.

    1. To 9:35 You are so right! To funny I thought exactly the same thing, right down to the fireman defending him. Mark has always been crazy, shows just how desperate OC is for leadership. You don’t have to look far once you see his “friends” and the pattern of corruption. Do you really think Rick “burp himself “ is going to do anything? The same with the other good ole boys. A few Councils ago when all the ties with Cymek and Paddock came out, it was obvious what the future was going to bring.

    2. Yet given an election year AND the churn on social media….me thinks this aint going away at all. Roughfly 5 weeks until memorial weekend cranks, not to mention the 1st car weekend mid may.

Yeah Rickie and Co….this aint going away at all. By the way…did that investigation into the hacking of SOMEONES social media account ever get completed? Walks like a duck….smells like an intoxicated duck………

  2. The hacking never got addressed properly, so why would anyone think this is going to be any different. There are two other documented serious changes against Padock in the last two years, what happened to those? This speaks volumes of the OCPD and its Chief. Same story, different day. Oh, then to tie the Paddack story to a certain drunk burnt out fireman from Stockton, you live by the sword, you die by the sword. Birds of feather……… nuff said.

  3. Why has the details of this event been so well hidden? Wasn’t this a publicly run restaurant or was it restricted to Town officials only? I’ll bet the bus drivers know what is going on.

  4. Give the identity of the business where you hang out in your police report, YOU get a different price list and NO MORE free beverages!

Stop yelling at other patron’s kids too!
