But they are only looking for women and people of color for the mission.
White men need not apply.
Because color and gender is now more important than knowledge, merit, and expertise.

In fact, the only people to ever land on the Moon have been white men.
However, NASA made a pledge in April 2021 that it would put a woman and a person of color on the Moon, a promise in line with US President Joe Biden’s aims of advancing equality.
Doing so would be a dream come true, Meir said at a media event in the lead-up to the Israel Space Agency’s Israel Space Week, where she is a guest.
Meir is one of several candidates for that historic spot on the Artemis III mission, currently slated to be launched in 2025. It follows the Artemis I mission, an unmanned launch currently slated for March 2022, and the Artemis II mission, which will see a crew of astronauts orbit the Moon but not land.
We aren’t going to the moon in 3 years and risk a public relations disaster.

If the selection is based on Gender and Race – don’t expect any of the other requirements to be of any priority.
I know a few that fit the criteria – yet would not expect them to be able to fly the spacecraft or conduct standards-based scientific experiments.

If you live (and she ain’t going to be able to carry you three feet), you’ll let MERIT go straight to the top of your list of qualifications.

The mission’s spacecraft should be named the ‘Alice Kramden’ in recognition of her pioneering role in stimulating interest in putting a woman on the moon.
But we can agree who should physically be on the launch and mission. She satisfies all the requirements. Of course I’m talking about Whoopi. Right race, right gender, etc. And if the rocket they use can lift that payload it will work for any other future launch!
