The prosecution has not had a good go at it in the Kyle Rittenhouse case. That continued today with testimony that may have all but ended the chances of a guilty verdict.
For those that aren’t familiar with the case, Rittenhouse is charged with murder for shooting and killing two men during the riots that occurred during 2020 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Multiple pieces of video have long suggested the shootings were in self-defense. Astonishingly, the riots themselves were set off by what we now know was an armed man who was shot by police while attempting to drive off with three children in a car he was allegedly stealing. While Jacob Blake survived that incident, others didn’t in all the chaos that followed.
But as RedState has reported, beginning the first day of Rittenhouse’s trial, the prosecutors have seemed to have no case at all, including having their own witnesses bolstering the claim of self-defense.
But what happened today may just be the final straw.
If you can’t watch the video, what you see is a witness admitting under questioning that he pointed a gun at Rittenhouse. He also testifies that Rittenhouse did not discharge his weapon until the gun had been pointed at the teenager. I’m no lawyer (though Viva Frei is), but it certainly doesn’t seem to get any more definitive than that. The prosecution has already struggled to make their case, but this is truly damning stuff that suggests prosecutors were malicious in ever bringing this case.
The prosecution is all over the place, trying to impugn every witness, and being rude along the way.
I hope this young man walks scott free. But I am sure he will begiven some type of punishment. Criminals are not always right.
