Last year, the Cleveland Indians announced that they were going to have some serious discussions about changing their team name. A little over a year later, the franchise has officially adopted a new moniker.
“We are committed to making a positive impact in our community and embrace our responsibility to advance social justice and equality,” the team said in a statement last July. “Our organization fully recognizes our team name is among the most visible ways in which we connect with the community.”
So what will be Cleveland’s team name moving forward? On Friday morning, the club announced that it’ll be known as the Cleveland Guardians.
Cleveland announced the news in a video narrated by legendary actor Tom Hanks.

The Indians, and their silly new name, are part of MLB which has gone Woke. So they and the rest of MLB can take a long walk off a short pier. No longer any interest in MLB.
