Vatican warns bishops not to deny communion to Biden, politicians over abortion

The Vatican cautioned American bishops against denying communion to politicians, including President Biden, over their support for abortion rights.

The New York Times reported Pope Francis has warned that communion can’t be used as a political weapon by Catholic bishops. Biden is the second Catholic president in U.S. history, following President John F. Kennedy.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will convene their three-day June General Assembly starting on Wednesday and are expected to force debate and a vote on the issue of communion, despite the pope’s warning.

“The concern in the Vatican is not to use access to the Eucharist as a political weapon,” Antonio Spadaro, a Jesuit priest and ally of the pope, told the Times.

Earlier this month, the pope spoke about communion as “not the reward of saints, but the bread of sinners,” the Times also reported.

  1. There are many devout catholics out there doing the Lords work, Joe Xiden is not one of them! Everything about him and his life is a total fraud. Stealing another mans wife? come on man!
amazing how the demonicrat libs and press love and cover for him! that tells you everything you need to know.

    1. There are no Catholics who are doing the Lord’s work Catholics are fake Christians and there are no if’s and’s or but’s about it. It’s become a religion for fakes who want to show off. When you enable sin as Catholics do you are worse then the sinner themselves.

  2. All religion is fake, seriously no sane person can really believe in those wild stories, they are as fact based as the Santa story. They make people feel good, period. Just like the so called miracles, Santa does those too.
Parents tell the kids about Easter bunnies, tooth fairies, Santa and elves, and Jesus and God. All have majical powers and other wild stories attributed to each of them.
