Arlington County is planning to rename a major highway bearing the name of Confederate General Robert E. Lee.
FOX 5’s Maureen Umeh says the County Board announced there will be a vote next month to rename Lee Highway after John Langston — an abolitionist and the first Black person to be elected to Congress from Virginia.
The name change would only affect the portion of Lee Highway that runs through Arlington County.
The five-member County Board decided on Saturday to vote next month to rename Lee Highway. The Board said the extra month will allow for additional community engagement and refining the cost estimate.
Umeh reports that the County currently estimates the name change will cost $300,000.
That’s going TOOOO FAR !!!!! Stop this Bullshhht
Throw the Leftist America Haters the Hell OUT of Office !!!!!! $$$$$ Waisters too
Tired of WHITE History & Culture being Attacked !!!! Lets take down that MLK statue & see How that Goes !!!!!
I am offended by the Obama statues. TAKE THEM DOWN!!!! You can destroy the statues of our history but you can not erase it. It will always be there. THIS IS WHY WE NEED TERM LIMITS AND NEW LAWS WRITTEN SEPERATELY TO CONTROL OUR GOVERNMENT THAT THINKS THEY RUN THE LAND AND THE PEOPLE. THEY FORGET THEY WORK FOR THE PEOPLE NOT THEMSELVES!!!!!!!
How about Arlington Highway so in the future there will be minimal expense for having to replace signs? Who is to say down the road the name Langston will be hated? The highway is already a state or local route number – use that. Can’t offend with a number………..yet
C’mon man……wasted tax payer dollars AGAIN and AGAIN!
Should rename the highway to Gabriel C. Wharton highway.
As I heard someone say yesterday “erasing culture is one of the hallmarks of communist takeover”.
America LOVES how you guys are openly admitting “white culture” is about fighting to defend enslaving people, even if it means turning against the American flag. Great job guys. No Critical Race Theory needed. Lol
The South will RIse Again !!!
