A Facebook live video is being shared online after vendors arriving in Fells Point early Saturday morning were met with a large amount of trash and broken glass in Broadway Square.
Merritt Dworkin runs the Fells Point Farmers Market in the Square.
Early Saturday she took to Facebook to show the trash and glass left behind by large crowds in Broadway Square Friday night.
“This is Fells Point. It’s embarrassing, isn’t it?” said Dworkin. “This is what Fells Point is when visitors come to see it. This is what it looks like when people are walking their dogs in the morning. This is what it looks like when we’re trying to set up a community event, like the Fells Point Farmers Market. This is what the Waterfront Partnership has to walk into. It is beyond unacceptable.”
“I saw plates, trash, broken glass, bottles strategically placed all around the square,” she described. “It was a nightmare.”
A nightmare Fells Point had last summer as well.
