Salisbury sees boost in business; was it the governor’s shoutout that did it?

Businesses saw a bump this weekend in Salisbury, where the city’s mass vaccination site became the first in Maryland to offer COVID-19 vaccinations on a walk-in basis.

But Bill Chambers, president and CEO of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, said it’s hard to know if the increase in traffic and business was tied to the fact that the mass vaccination site in Salisbury started offering vaccinations without an appointment on Friday.

“Talking to the people at the civic center,” where the vaccinations are given, he said “the increase in traffic has been noticeable.”

Gov. Larry Hogan may have helped by urging people to travel to Wicomico County for the Easter weekend, get vaccinated in Salisbury and then hit Ocean City for some Thrasher’s French Fries.

  1. They make up their own bullshit narrative out of thin air and never have to prove it… speaking of bullshit what ever happened to the mayor ? Do we still have one or should we pick another ???

    1. The whole article is a laugh.
Hogan mostly indicated there is absolutely nothing to do here other than, to get shot up with poison and then go to OC, but Smallsbury is too stupid the realize that’s what he said.

And hilarious is, they are using the only coffee shop they ever talk to, as a barometer of the ghettos economy. A relative maybe, needing more free advertising? I doubt those ordering coffee just blurted out, hey I am just here to get vaccinated, can I have a mocha latte please . . . .

Why not talk to Olde Towne Deli Cafe & Coffeehouse – the hub of the ever booming jake day’s downtown? Or the more recognizable Starbucks or Dunkin, where I place bets that more people went to than rise up.

But we do not know if it was the race or the poison shots, but we will write a fake story on it anyhow?

      Awesome journalism.

  2. People are tired of being under the government strong hand. Surely didn’t have anything to do with string hand Hogan. He may get him some French fries and check if they have any Asian folk dipping frys. That’s about the extent of outgoing Larry.

  3. Time to move to Florida folks where you have a governor that takes up for us Americans that live in his state.

  4. They also had the Salisbury Marathon last weekend. Larry is trying to toot his own horn and it fell flat. He’s not that important. I did laugh when he told people to go to OC rather than visit Salisbury.
