A newly-posted Baltimore Police Department internal audit reveals a grim reminder. In 2017, eight members of the now defunct and disgraced Gun Trace Task Force unit were indicted.
The audit reveals the police department still paid six of those officers– even after they were indicted and suspended without pay. The payments total more than $85,000.
It’s a 25-page report. The audit was done a year ago and it’s posted now on the police department’s website under “resources and reports.”
The audit reports 6 members received combined more than $85,000 in pay between March 2017 and February 2019 – money paid out despite the men being indicted and placed on leave without pay.
