President Joe Biden has named 11 judicial nominees including a Muslim judge, three black women and a jurist who would be the first Asian-American on the DC federal district court.
Biden’s first slate of progressive picks includes a future favorite for the Supreme Court and comes after Donald Trump won the confirmation of 220 conservative judges during his White House tenure.
‘This trailblazing slate of nominees draws from the very best and brightest minds of the American legal profession,’ Biden said in a statement that emphasized their ‘broad diversity of background experience and perspective.’
