NAI Coastal Principal Joey Gilkerson announced Thursday that the City of Salisbury had purchase the Truitt Street Community Center.
Gilkerson has been working with the city to transform the former warehouse into a recreation center for local youth. This renovation led to the purchase last month.
The city has been leasing the property since the beginning in 2017.
NAI Coastal noted that the city purchased a finished community center rather than a warehouse still in need of renovation.
The Truitt Street Community Center is the first of four planned facilities aimed to provide Salisbury’s youth with a safe place to gather, learn, and play.
Good. That only took about eight years.
A Gilkerson and the City of Salisbury doing a real estate deal. Truly shocking!
