GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Friday she was grateful for the Democratic “morons” and 11 Republicans who voted Thursday to eject her from House committees — because they only made her more prominent.
Greene (R-Fla.) pointed out that Republicans are in the minority in the chamber and can’t do much on committees regardless.
“I woke up early this morning literally laughing thinking about what a bunch of morons the Democrats (+11) are for giving some one like me free time,” Greene tweeted.
“In this Democrat tyrannical government, Conservative Republicans have no say on committees anyway. Oh this is going to be fun!”
In another tweet shortly after the vote, she wrote, “Thank you to the real Republicans who stood with me today! Every single one of you will be remembered.”
There is no way this lady can say anything that would compare to the vile mess from damorats. I won’t even start because the list would go forever. Go Greene !!
I believe she is R-Georgia, not R-Florida.
IIRC, all comments she was banned for took place before she was sworn i as a member of Congress, and I also think most were prior to her actual election. Respecting the First Amendment, Democrat style!
First Amendment covers attempts by the government to suppress your speech. Given that the House has a lot of leeway in its rules, it still is a part of government so suppressing a representative for comments they made as a private citizen seems like an unconstitutional overreach. Her district is also being punished because their elected representative is being hobbled; members like to be on committees that are important to the home folks.
Think she should litigate. (Have no opinion about what she’s accused of saying).
