Country singer Morgan Wallen ‘indefinitely suspended’ from record label after racial slur

Country music star Morgan Wallen was “indefinitely” suspended from Big Loud Records on Wednesday after video surfaced showing him shouting a racial slur. Several radio stations had already pulled the Nashville singers’ tunes earlier that morning.

“In the wake of recent events, Big Loud Records has made the decision to suspend Morgan Wallen’s recording contract indefinitely,” the label wrote in a statement posted on Twitter. “Republic Records fully supports Big Loud’s Decision and agrees such behavior will not be tolerated.”

The 27-year-old singer told TMZ, that he’s embarrassed and apologized after they obtained the video.

  1. Unless that is stated in his contract – his freedom of speech has been violated….

In spite of what he said – he does have a right to say it…unless his contract spells it out otherwise!

  2. He did nothing wrong except being drunk and rowdy… If you’re white you have a target on your back in America today

    1. What do they mean “in the wake of recent events”. Don’t know the dude, but was getting ready to go country until the dust ass apologized. On his own now.

  3. Freedom of speech and where is his privacy????? I’m gonna say wtf I want in my home and on my property. No one had the right to record him without his permission! Even if I didn’t like his songs I do now. What about all this thug music, killing cops, drugs, guns, and bitches. Give me a break, people make me sick!

  4. Thank God! This will set the precedent for everyone in the music industry to get banned for saying anything offensive!

    *sarcasm*

  5. Private industry can and do what they want when they want. Much different than the government. No story here. You are FIRED! Anyone remember that show? Hmmmm
