A pair of high-profile political figures of opposite parties — Republican Michael Steele and Democrat Tom Perez — say they are considering running for Maryland governor in 2022.
Steele, the former lieutenant governor who is now an MSNBC commentator, said Friday he will seriously consider a campaign to succeed two-term Republican Gov. Larry Hogan, who cannot run again because of term limits.
“I’ll take a very strong, long look at it and see where the chips fall,” Steele told host Richard Sher on the “Square Off’ online public affairs program Friday.
“I know I’m not everyone’s favorite cup of tea within my party. I never have been. I don’t let those things bother me,” Steele said on the show.
Perez, the former Democratic National Committee chair, was asked on “The Bill Press Pod” podcast on Tuesday whether he would consider seeking the open governor’s seat.
Perez replied that “I love the great State of Maryland” and would “take a look at” running.
“We’ll see what happens,” said Perez.
This is a shoe in for anyone running against comrade Hogan , Micky Mouse could win.
Steele is no longer a republican…he’s a traitor too.
So before all of the conservatives start complaining about Steele think about it, Hogan wasn’t great but he wasn’t Ben jealous. Steele isn’t great but he is not Perez. Take your pick.
Doesn’t matter what color or what party they all sell out the American people
Robin Ficker has a better chance – and I believe he is a better real Republican…..
The republicans damn sure better come up with something other than Michael Steele. He has already shown us what he is.
Two big names, a legend in their owe minds.
Sadly I do not have any faith in the system at all. I am in my 60’s and this is a first for me that I will sit out. If Donald Trump runs in 2024 then I will go to the polls.
Hogan let us down as did Steele. We are a one party state and I simply won’t contribute.
Mike Steele was Lt. Gov. for Gov. Ehrlich, and did fine in that understudy role. But OweMalley defeated Ehrlich’s reelection bid. Steele sidled over to DC and was chosen to head the RNC. His time there was a disaster. Subsequently, as a black Republican former officeholder who disagreed with President Trump, he’s been the toast of the MSM. So the short and accurate answer is that he offers very little to Maryland Republicans and nothing to crossover minded Democrats. We have an elected Lt. Gov. currently who offers all of Steele’s advantages and none of his substantial negatives. Nope, Mike, Nope!
Perez was a cabinet member for OweMalley; that alone is enough to disqualify him. But wait, there’s more! He then became one of Eric Holder’s top officials in the lawless Obama DOJ. Specialty: Civil Rights subterfuge. After the Obama regime ended he became head of the DNC. The same DNC that stole the 2020 election. So he’s up to his armpits in bad politics. He’s evil to the bone. Absolutely no!
Not mention Mike Steele’s involvement in the now sandal filled Lincoln Project!
A pair of high-profile political figures of opposite parties — Republican Michael Steele and Democrat Tom Perez — say they are considering running for Maryland governor in 2022. Perez is the Former DNC chair. President Barack Obama nominated Perez to be Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice.
Tom Perez Has Problems W/ Email, Ethics, Racism and Perjury. Perez was not only the choice of the Clinton wing of the party, but he has many of the same issues as Hillary Clinton, including email, ethics, telling the truth, and a belief that only Caucasians can commit race crimes. Having the Rino Michael Steele will be no better. Is this all that Maryland has to offer the people????????
does it matter which one of these losers gets in? u are f’d all the same! good luck maryland,! keep voting for the losers you get what you deserve!
