Wicomico County Business Possible Victim of Unemployment Fraud Scheme

Amy Donohue first noticed the fraudulent unemployment claim when she checked her mail last week.

She says she received a claim from “a gentleman on Thursday. You can return it two ways: You can mail it but these days that’s pretty risky. ‘Cause it had to be back by Monday. Or you can get on your site and finish it which is immediate. So I did that but this was a gentleman who never worked for us. I have no idea who he is.”

Once Amy logged onto the site, she discovered she did not have just one fraudulent claim. “I was quite shocked to find out there were nine other fraudulent claims against our company,” Donohue says, “of course I filled these all out that they were fraudulent but unless I had gotten that letter and gotten on my site, I wouldn’t have known they were there.”

Amy says eight out of the nine claims were from people who never worked for her company, Kitchen Concepts Plus. One person’s name, however, did ring a bell.

“One of them is a current employee. He’s been with us for multiple years and he never filed it,” Donohue says, “so the scarier part now is someone has all of his personal information, his social and they’re filing claims on his behalf.”

  1. I am not sure what they are complaining about as it is the EMPLOYEES who are the victims.

If she was doing her job on a regular basis, of which she was not, she would have spotted this sooner
She / they are not the victim the persons who identity was stolen is

We, who have 250 employees in many states have also had to combat this fraud on the behalf of our EMPLOYEES, as we never saw ourselves as the victim.

We are not going to have to fight it and pay taxes on it, our employees will.

Any rate change to the company is minuscule compared to what the EMPLOYEE will have to endure and prove.

    Crocodile tears.

    1. I see you’ve got nothing to contribute so you go with the personal attacks based on no facts or knowledge of anything. Your ugly is showing.

      1. No honey you’re ugly was showing in you’re original comment and now you’re big mad cause you got called on it😂
And again I stand by my comment that you probably make you’re co workers cringe on a daily basis. That’s not a personal attack it’s just a fact. 😂

        1. What an ugly human being you are. Typical troll with nothing to add except hate. And the delusion that your insults mean anything to someone you know nothing about.

But you and this story are typical Salisbury, so no one is surprised by your spewing hate.

God bless the people that have to work or live with someone like you.

At least 6:15 is correct and has a brain. You, on the other hand , are simply an imbecile.

        2. Honey? Condescending and ugly. I wouldn’t touch you with a 10 foot pole, and dear I sold my business and retired, with the condition that my employees kept their jobs.

Unlike you who hires stupid whiny people. Is that your wife you are defending but spewing your ugly? So obvious.
