Several Wicomico County parents and teachers intended to make a public comment at the Wicomico County Board of Education’s monthly meeting to express their concerns before their elected officials. When citizens requested to make a public comment in advance, they were all notified that the Board would not be receiving public comments during its January 12 meeting. Citizens were upset that they were being denied the opportunity to make any comment in person or by Zoom.
Lucky for them that unlike twenty years ago when Don Coffin was present at the Wicomico County Council meeting discussing controversial tax increases, and the attendees were told not to speak, but he did; that he was not present for the School Board meeting. No doubt he would have spoke up for the parents.
Any elected body, particularly a school board should not be allowed to stifle respectful public input at a public meeting. Seems as though a formal complaint can be filed with the State Ethics Board.
Maybe it can, but are any of you slaves going to do it? No, So STFU and continue to sit there and do nothing slave!
Dear Johnny
Channeling Steve?
???
Wow! Only in Wicomico County. Brings back memories of similar actions of the Wicomico County Council in 2000.
Obstruction and negligence. This is what a communist mafia looks like.
Oh they’ll open back up…when Biden says so and can be hailed as a hero. Just watch.
You can bet I will be e-mailing ALL of the people listed on the board.
Typical. They dont want to hear it. They only want to do what they want to do.
I will be setting up two escrow accounts for my state and federal tax. They can have the money when they provide services again and stop this lockdown crap
