Pence says to ‘hold your heads high’ in emotional meeting with staffers

Vice President Mike Pence told staffers to “hold your heads high” at an emotional meeting where he praised their work — and condemned the mob that besieged them at the US Capitol this week.

“What he said was, you should hold your heads high and focus not on the actions of people in the past 48 hours, but you should focus on … the good that you did,” an official who was present at the Friday chat told the Washington Examiner.

Pence, who has come under blistering fire from President Trump for refusing to halt the Electoral College count, received a “rousing” reception at his office in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, the official said.

While there, he added his signature to a wooden drawer in the Theodore Roosevelt desk in his ceremonial office — continuing a tradition that goes back to President Harry Truman.

Pence also placed a sympathy phone call to the family of the United States Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, who died Thursday after rioters reportedly bludgeoned him with a fire extinguisher.

  1. I’m not surprised at Pence, he’s part of the swamp. Let’s face it, that’s all Trump had to pick from in his administration. Trump has been screwed. We have been screwed. Voting seems to help nothing. Maybe the left will eat themselves. Hard to tell.
