A former Florida congressional candidate has filed a petition to disbar Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) over his support for President Trump’s election challenges.
Pam Keith, who ran as a Democrat to represent Florida’s 18th Congressional District and was handily defeated by Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.), is seeking to have Gaetz disbarred for his “egregious betrayal and attack on the Constitution of the United States of America.”
“This petition to disbar Matt Gaetz has been filed,” Keith tweeted Tuesday. “Whether or not they choose to discipline him (they have censured him in the past), the record of his tenure will have this stain forever.”
The petition argues that Gaetz acted in sedition designed to “tear apart the fabric of federalism that allows this nation to function and thrive.” Keith further argues that Gaetz violated standards for lawyers licensed in Florida, and should be sanctioned.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the petition had 3,305 signatures.
Keith hinted earlier this month that she would filed disbarment petitions against the congressman and former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi (R). Gaetz responded at the time.
“Pam – I’ve never lost an election,” Gaetz tweeted Dec. 13.
“Honest questions: How many times have you run? How many wins? (The voters just aren’t that into you…),” he added.
A true never-Trumper there, ignoring the Constitution, not protecting it. She lost for a reason.
Here’s one of her recent Twitter entries:
Trump is the antichrist.
He makes evil laudable because it is loyal to him.
He makes virtue contemptible because it is disloyalty to him.
We cannot be rid of him, his treacherous family and the stench of his corrupted soul fast enough.
Good luck with that trash
Good luck with that as those bastards on the left did not follow the election laws as put forth in the Constitution!
