Berlin Mayor ‘Discouraging Anyone From Trick-Or-Treating In Berlin’

BERLIN – With Halloween just days away, Mayor Zack Tyndall asked residents not to trick-or-treat in Berlin this year.

While the town’s previous leadership opted not sponsor Halloween activities, Tyndall took a stronger stance this week and actively urged against trick-or-treating.

“We have Halloween this Saturday and we’re in the middle of a pandemic so I am strongly discouraging anyone from trick-or-treating in Berlin,” Tyndall said at Monday’s meeting of the town council. “It’s usually a pretty big holiday here in town but with the pandemic we are discouraging that.”

Tyndall said the town would not be offering candy scanning like it typically did and was not planning to close any streets.

  1. Sorry Mayor. Appears you lack the leadership traits and characteristics necessary to make sound, commonsensical decisions for the good of the Town. Trick or Treating should certainly be an activity that could be conducted with trust in the people to conduct themselves safely. Events and activities with people congregating and interacting have already occurred in the Town, should provide you with all the evidence you need.

You do not need to Grandstand. Simply realize that life must go on. And if you have it within you, encourage citizens to practice good hygiene and get on with life in Berlin for goodness sake. That includes celebrating Halloween and trick or treating.

  2. They could close the streets for a drunk fest a couple of weeks, but are discouraging truck or treating…give me a break! It’s all about money. It’s a shame to see stupidity dismantling all of Mike Day’s amazing work there.
