Parents, students rally to reopen Baltimore County Public Schools

A group of frustrated Baltimore County parents and students took a break from learning Wednesday to call for a new districtwide school reopening plan.

Tensions have been building since the first day of school for a plan that would allow Baltimore County students back into the classroom before the end of this semester. Parents say they held a rally because the district is dragging its feet.

Baltimore County students helped lead the charge in the rally to reopen schools.

They took part in a parent sponsored rally in Towson to send a message to school leaders. They did so out of frustration with virtual learning.

“Everyday, I’ve been getting headaches, maybe about four hours into school and I haven’t liked it,” a Baltimore County Public School student said.

  1. Dorchester just closed, and I heard Wicomico may close as early as tomorrow due to positivity rates being over the 5% threshold.
