Florida man arrested for fatally shooting twin brother after pair drew guns on each other

A man in Florida was arrested and hit with a manslaughter charge for allegedly shooting his twin brother to death, a report said.

The 23-year-old man, Thomas Parkinson-Freeman, was sitting in a parked car with his brother in Gulfport, near Tampa, Sunday evening when the shooting took place, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Police told the newspaper Thomas and his brother Mathias were joking around when Mathias pulled out a gun and pointed it at his brother.

Thomas responded by pulling out another gun and shooting Mathias in the face.

“Detectives concluded that Thomas was not acting in self-defense when he drew and fired his gun because he told detectives that he was not in fear and that he did not believe Mathias had any intention of shooting him,” police told the newspaper in a statement.

Mathias was rushed to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
